Voice Mail messages (if applicable)
If
you have a Voice Mail service that causes your dial-tone
to sound differently when you have messages, it may interfere
with 550access's ability to connect. To fix this problem,
check your Voice Mail so that your dial tone sounds normal
when you pick up the phone.

Identify
and query your installed modem
- Click
the Windows Start button and point to Settings then
click on Control Panel.
- Double-click
the Phone and Modem Options icon.

- Click
once on the modem that is installed to highlight it
and click on the Properties button.
- Select
the Diagnostics tab.
- Click
on More Info.
- If
your modem is configured correctly, it should display
information in the Modem Information window regarding
your modem. Click OK to exit.
Note: If you receive an error message, then you
will need to configure your modem.
- Click
the My Computer Icon and select Dial Up Networking..
- Click
the 550access icon to highlight it.
- From
the File menu, select Properties.

- From
the Connect Using drop-down menu, select your modem.

Remove unused modems
- Click
on the Windows Start button and select Settings then
choose Control Panel.
- Double-click
on Modem Icon.
- Select
the modem's individually that did not respond in the
previous step and click on Remove
- Click
OK and close the Control Panel.

Change
the modem being used by the 550access software
- Click
on My Computer and Dial Up Networking
- Right
click on the 550access icon and select Properties.

- Next
to Connect Using, make sure the correct modem is selected
from the drop down menu.
- Click
OK.
- Try
connecting again.

Reinstall your
modem driver
If
all else fails, try reinstalling your modem driver. Please
contact your system or modem manufacturer for specific
instructions.
