5. Under Maximum Speed,
select the appropriate port speed
for your modem. For 14.4 modems
use 19200, for 28.8 modems use
38400 and for 56k use 57600.
6. Click on the Connection
button.

Under
Call Preferences, ensure that
the Cancel the call if not
connected within box is checked
and is set to 60 sec or 120
sec.
10. Ensure that the following
settings are correct:
- Data
Bits: 8
- Parity:
None
- Stop
Bits: 1
Note: Some modems may not
allow you to change the call preferences.
- Click
OK and Close Then click on My
Computer.
- Double-click
the Dial Up Networking icon.
- Right-click
the 550access icon.
- Select
Properties.

15. On Connect using, ensure
that the correct modem is selected.
16. Click on the Configure
button.

- Ensure
that the Maximum Speed settings
match your modem.
- If
you have a 28.8 or 33.6
modem, select 38400.
- If
you have a 56k V.90 or Flex
modem, select 57600.
- Click
OK then OK again and close Dial
Up Networking.
- Try
logging on to 550access again.
