Before you proceed with the setup, make
sure you have the original versions of the Windows
installation CD-ROMs with you.
1.
Go to your Windows
taskbar and click on Start > Settings > Control
Panel

The Control Panel window
opens. Double click on the Network icon.
3.
The Select Network Adapters
window opens. Click on the Add... button.
4.
Highlight the Adapter
item and click on the Add... button.
5.
The Select Network
Adapters window opens with a listing of Manufacturers
on the left, and Network Adapters on the right.
6.
From the Manufacturers
list, click on Microsoft after which, select Dial-Up
Adapter in the Network Adapters list.
7.
Click on the OK button.
8.
You will be brought
back to the Network Properties window, the window
should have an additional item - Dial Up Adapter.
This is the item that you have just added.
9.
In the same window,
click on the Add button.

Highlight the Protocol
item and click on the Add button.
10.
The Select Network
Protocol window opens with a listing of Manufacturers
on the left and Network Protocols on the right.
11.
From the Manufacturers
list, click on Microsoft after which, select TCP/IP
in the Network Protocols list.
12.
Click on the OK button.
13.
You will be brought
back to the Network Properties window, the window
should have an additional item - TCP/IP. This is the
item that you have just added.
14.
You have successfully
installed the Network Components for Windows 95/98.
